• Now announcing Gold Panning Meetup

  Sat Nov 7, 2026 · 11 AM – 1 PM · Steel Bridge River Access day-use area, Trinity River. A free, informal pilot meetup: Gabriel will be out panning — come watch the technique, try your hand, and learn to tell real gold from fool's gold. Bring your own hand pan if you have one (no loaners). Small group; rain date Sat Nov 14; waiver signed on arrival. The day-use area is before the campground, which is closed for the season. Getting there: stay on Hwy 299, then Steel Bridge Rd. Bring water (no potable water on site) and download directions before you go — cell coverage is poor out there.
